Founded in 1972 by Dr. Craig Hughes, our office started as a small, one doctor/one staff practice. Dr. Hughes grew the practice by providing outstanding service to his patients, as well as serving the needs of the surrounding area.
In the early 1980's, the practice had outgrown its location and a new facility was constructed on Harwood Road.
In 1982, Dr. Craig Hughes' mother, Claire, began to work at the practice, marking a family legacy that would continue with time.
In 1985, Dr. Craig Hughes was asked to become the Texas Ranger's eye doctor, which he gladly accepted. He held that position for 14 years. First EYE Care was formed during this time.
In 2001, Dr Craig Hughes moved again to North Richland Hills
In 2006, Dr. Blake Hughes joined the practice. Meredith Hughes also joined the practice at this time.
In 2011, First EYE Care moved to its new facility in Hurst where we continue to provide exceptional care in a family-friendly office.
