PROKERA: Self-retaining Cryopreserved Amniotic Membrane

PROKERA is a Class II medical device.  It is composed of a cryopreserved amniotic membrane graft fastened to a thermoplastic 16mm symblepharon ring.  The device acts as a self-retaining biological bandage, treating ocular surface disease via its anti-inflammatory, anti-angiogenic, and anti-scarring effects.

  • Chronic inflammation of the ocular surface
  • Poor corneal re-epithelialization following ocular surgery
  • Limbal stem cell deficiency
  • Corneal ulcer
  • Chemical or thermal burn
